Newington is a residential suburb of Edinburgh on the south side. Minto Street, the main artery running through, is approximately a mile from Princes Street and the historical centre of the city. Historically, the locality was popular as a residential area for doctors for whom easy access to the old infirmary and the Royal College of Surgeons was important. |
